Thoughts of the day
Good morning, and thank you for reading.
Some scientific theorists claim that right after the Big Bang, when the universe was born, chaos followed. Beyond the implied disorder, a chaotic system also reveals an interconnectivity between things, where small changes can lead to large-scale effects. This is what we nowadays tend to describe as the butterfly effect or, more colloquially, when we say "everything is connected".
At its core, chaos implies the absence of our control over outcomes in the grand scheme of things.
Yet, somehow, after the initial chaos harmony followed. A world was born, with a structure to it, with order and laws establishing themselves (though much of this still does not make sense, especially the manmade side).
As Nietzsche wrote in one of his more poetic moments:
“You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star.”
If what came after the big bang was chaos, we should learn to embrace it as a necessary step towards what we desire.
