Thoughts of the day
Perhaps no other painter is more relevant to the present human state than Edward Hopper. Though he features in Brain Food often, today's appearance is slightly different. In her series 'Emoji Paintings', Ukrainian artist Nastya Ptichek brings Hopper's work into the realm of the post-modern, by combining his sombre paintings with emojis and other icons from the digital world.
The result is darkly comic and slightly disconcerting.
