In her famed and tragic diary, Anne Frank wrote, “Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.”
Though art in all its forms is not required to be beautiful, sometimes it might be enough for it to act as a medium for celebrating and eternalising beauty, the joy of living, and the intimacy of everyday moments.
As Pierre-Auguste Renoir, whose work follows this philosophy, said, “Why shouldn’t art be pretty? There are enough unpleasant things in this world.”
