In all emergency protocols, more famously on airplanes, you will be instructed to put your own oxygen mask on before trying to help someone else.

Perhaps less famously, Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “The best lightning rod for your protection is your own spine.” Resilience may be important, but what is more important is that, through the power of consciousness, we can identify what is worth our time, and choose our hardships. In our dreams we follow the narrative, but in our waking lives, we can build it.

And, if many opportunities are coming your way, this is not necessarily a signal that you should take all of them, but a sign that you are on the right path.
