Thoughts of the day
Someone who noticed that the milestone was fast-approaching, asked me what Brain Food #500 would be about. Today also happens to be another milestone: the two-year anniversary of when I started a new job, and new life, the three paradoxically running in parallel, since Brain Food also started its journey roughly two Octobers ago.
What the past two years have taught me is that expectations and reality rarely meet, because life has the ability to surprise us in countless different ways. All we can do, and this is appearing much more frequently now, is to pay attention, by being attuned to what crosses our path, while also not ruling out what was previously a path we would never consider taking, while having no expectations.
And, as I just finished reading Rebecca Solnit’s exquisite A Field Guide to Getting Lost, the following quote resonates more than ever:
“Leave the door open for the unknown, the door into the dark. That’s where the most important things come from, where you yourself came from, and where you will go.”
As always, thank you for reading Brain Food.
