Thoughts of the day
Our imagination allows us to go places that not only we have never been to, but also to places we would otherwise never be able to go to.
By imagining the impossible, we immediately make it more tangible. It is why science fiction writers often show an uncanny ability to predict the future, like Jules Verne writing about a journey to the moon, and H.G. Wells imagining many of the features of life that we now take for granted, like wireless communications, automatic doors and space exploration.
Imagination becomes a means to survival and progress, an ability to see the future and to work our way towards it.
“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.”
― Carl Sagan
