Thoughts of the day
Sir Isaac Newton, one of history’s greatest thinkers and most influential scientists, was admitted into Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1661.
Some years later, the Great Plague started spreading across the world and, as a result, the university had to close its doors and Newton was forced to work from home. During those two years at home, between 1665 and 1666, Newton invented calculus and discovered the laws of motion.
Life doesn’t start the moment one steps outside their house; it starts the moment they open their eyes. With the right willpower, and the right environment, we can still achieve great things, even if the world around us stops.
“I can calculate the motion of heavenly bodies but not the madness of people.”
— Isaac Newton
